Snyder, Robert Woodrow  OBIT: RIDGEWAY — Robert Woodrow Snyder, 79, formerly of Covington, died Sunday in Martinsville General Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1912, a son of the late Ira and Molly Snyder. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Sink Snyder of Ridgeway; a son, Jerry Snyder of Martinsville; two grandsons; three sisters, Katherine Sprouse of Covington; Thelma McCallister of Covington; and Margaret Loan of Galion, Ohio. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at McKee Funeral Service Chapel in Martinsville.

 

OBIT: Virginian Review – July 9, 2008 Area Death Notices Tootsie McCallister Thelma Elizabeth “Tootsie” Snyder Warwick McCallister, 93, of The Woodlands in Clifton Forge, and former resident of Covington, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Woods Warwick, who died in 1953, and her second husband, Oscar R. McCallister. She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Covington, the daughter of the late Ira W. Snyder and Mary Margaret Jackson Snyder. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence of Mary Ann and Horton Beirne, 4415 Midland Trail, and Brenda and Robert Perkins, 320 N. Lexington Ave., Covington. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Associating, in care of Joy Brackman Weeks, 2212 Dressler Drive, Covington, Virginia 24426.
